Danie started his television production company to pay for university. For 28 years he dedicated himself to his team and the South African Television industry.

When he stepped out of corporate life in 2013, Urban Brew Studios was considered the most prolific independent television studio in Africa. 

He now works as a producer and photographer and has done numerous expeditions in both the Arctic and Antarctic. His first polar expedition was 14 months in Antarctica (December 1983 to March 1985), and in the last ten years, he filmed in Antarctica, Svalbard, East-Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic.
